Recipient is implied; letter is addressed to "Mr. Smoot," and there is handwritten "E. B. Smoot" on the letter in pencil. Per the 1961 Alumni Directory, a Edward Bagby Smoot was a 1934 graduate. The only other E.B. Smoot is a Edward Brittingham Smoot who was a 1924 graduate, which would not align with the date of 1928 on this letter.
